    Hey Lacey,
thanks for your comments, they made me feel better. I have been craving my normal foods like crazy! But you were right, even though I didn’t take my measurements, I feel like I’m loosing inches & my stomach feels much flatter. Even though weight does fluctuate this morning after two weeks of atkins I was down nine pounds. Anyway, I thought maybe I was doing some things wrong. I eat stuff like 3 carb atkins chocolate bars =), lots of diet coke, and the regular eggs, meat, tuna with mayo pepper and celery, coffee. I just now got a hold of some mixed greens since I dont like them, what can I eat them with? I also eat 1oz american or mozzarella cheese for snacks. Anyway, thanks again, you helped me to stay on my diet. Good luck with your move and I’ll be in touch. -Fani.

    Hi Fani :)
I am glad that you are staying on track with Atkins. 9 pounds is AWESOME! Great job! Here are a few more pointers to help you out…

Those Atkins bars are garbage and have lots of stuff in them that is not allowed on induction. I would drop those things like a hot potato!

Diet Coke is also not allowed on Atkins. I know how hard it is to give up soda because I was a diet coke addict! Diet coke is sweetened with Aspartame which causes lots of peoples weight loss to slow or stop. It is not a sweetener that is allowed on this plan. You can occasionally have a diet rite soda but you have to count each 8 oz serving as one serving of sweetener and you are only allowed 3 sweeteners a day and it should be splenda not aspartame. Diet coke also has caffeine which causes blood sugar problems and cravings (not to mention water retention from the sodium and bloating from the carbonation) and Dr. Atkins highly suggests dropping caffeine completely. Thats why I only drink decaf coffee now ( I used to be a pot a day kind of girl).

Snacking on cheese is fine as long as you don’t eat more than 4 oz a day although I wouldn’t eat american cheese because its processed cheese and not on the induction list, maybe you can switch to cheddar? Mozzarella is fine though.

As for the greens, I usually eat 2 salads a day with mixed greens so that is how I would eat them :)

Do you have a copy of Dr. Atkins new diet revolution? I found my copy at a thrift store for $1 and it has been a life saver. Try and find the 2002 version because that is the last one that Dr. A was involved with before his death. My best advice is to get it, read it and follow it exactly! There are rungs on Atkins where you add food back into your diet and it is an important process that helps you keep the weight off forever. Good luck and stay in touch!
