I didnt quite meet my goal for less cream, sweeteners and cheese yesterday. I had 3 oz of cheese and 3 tbsp of cream and sweetener in the form of davinci syrup. I figure its ok to let yourself eat that stuff sometimes. I was eating it everyday and I have definitely cut back so I think I will maintain that for now :)

I checked my measurments yesterday and lost 11 inches during the last week. 2 from my upper chest, 3 from my chest (waaaa!), 2 from my waist and one from each thigh and arm. I think that is a definite indicator that this is working for me! Yeah!

Exercise – 20 minutes tae bo, 50 crunches, 50 squats, 10 minute arm series using resistance band

Breakfast – Mock Danish, 1 egg (0.6 carbs), 2 oz cream cheese (2 carbs), davinci sugar free syrup (you can use splenda but I saved myself carbs by using the carb and sugar free syrup, plus it is vanilla flavored so I didn’t need the extra vanilla)

Total – 2.6 carbs

Lunch – 1 cup romaine (0.4 carbs), 1/8th cup red pepper (0.6 carbs), 1/8th cup zuchini (0.3 carbs), 1 oz feta cheese (1 carb), 3 slices bacon (0.2 carbs), olive oil and vinegar dressing

Total – 2.5 carbs

Snack – 1/2 cup jicama (2.5 carbs), 2 slices roast beef, 1/2 oz cheddar cheese (0.5 carbs)

Total – 3 carbs

Dinner – 6 oz turkey breast, 1 cup romaine lettuce (0.4 carbs), 1/4 cup cauliflower (0.7 carbs), 2/3 cup green beans with butter (3 carbs), 1/8th cup green onion (0.5 carbs), olive oil and vinegar dressing

Total – 4.6 carbs

Snack – handful of pork skins, 2 tbsp sour cream (2 carbs)

Total – 2 carbs

Daily total – 14.7 carbs

**I have to say that the mock danish is really good! I wasn’t fooled into thinking it was bread but it was reminiscent of a breakfast pastry and was sweet and had a good texture. I was getting sick of scrambled eggs and this is a nice alternative. I also think its good for when you have a sweet craving :) I just put butter on mine and it was yummy!**

Induction day 27…

Hot here today but I am doing good. Had a commitment yesterday that involved cooking mass quantities of bad carb food for the local Moose Lodge I belong to. There wasn’t a single thing there that I could have except 2 slices of tomato. I was cutting up dessert and absentmindedly licked my finger without even realizing it. I caught myself though and spit it out! That just goes to show how badly I was on food autopilot before. Mindlessly eating whatever I wanted. How monumentally stupid. Breaking those old habits is an important part of this weight loss journey. I started my 6 week fitness challenge today. I did an advanced pilates video that was a little too advanced for me but if I couldn’t do the exercises they were doing, I would just modify it or do crunches for that series. Phew, that was hard and my abs are feeling it! I also did 50 squats and 10 minutes of arm work using a resistance band. I’m proud of myself and feel great!

Breakfast – 3 slices bacon (0.2 carbs), 1 egg cooked in butter (0.6 carbs)

Total – 0.8 carbs

Lunch – 3 oz can of tuna, 1/2 cup jicama (2.5 carbs)

Total – 2.5 carbs

Snack – 1 oz Colby cheese (1 carb)

Total – 1 carb

Dinner – 8 oz steak, 1 cup brussels sprouts (6.6 carbs), 1 oz feta cheese (1 carb), 1 cup romaine lettuce (0.4 carbs), 1 tbsp butter, olive oil and vinegar salad dressing

Total – 8 carbs

Snack – 1 oz string cheese (1 carb), 16 oz decaf coffee (1.5 carbs), 3 tbsp heavy cream (3 carbs), 3 tbsp davinci sugar free syrup

Total – 5.5 carbs

Daily Total – 17.8 carbs

Induction day 26…

Doing good, got closer to 20 grams of carbs yesterday. Think the key is less lettuce and more other, higher carb veggies. I had about 2.5 ounces of cheese yesterday. I am trying to keep it at 3 or under, 2 oz would be even better. No cream or splenda for I think 4 days now. I still feel like I am shrinking but when I hopped on a friends scale it said I had gained a few pounds back. I haven’t gotten off plan at all so I am sure it is just the loss of so much water during the first 2 weeks. Once you eat this way for a while it seems like your body adjusts and you gain some water weight back. Lots of people seem to stall at this point so I know that if I just keep doing what I am doing, I will lose again. If I have learned anything about Atkins it is that weight loss is not linear. It jumps around and fluctuates. You may not lose a pound for 4 weeks and then lose 5 overnight. I can see how that would make some people want to give up but I just want to push through it! Tomorrow starts the first day of my exercise schedule. 4 days a week is what I am shooting for to start. It will be working out to different dvds like tae bo, yoga, pilates and strength training.

Breakfast – 1/8th cup zucchini (0.2 carbs), 1/8th cup red pepper (0.6 carbs), 1/8th cup mushroom (0.3 carbs), 1/2 oz swiss cheese (0.5 carbs), 3 slices bacon (0.2 carbs), 2 eggs cooked in butter (1.2 carbs)

Lunch – 2 deviled eggs, eggs (1.2 carbs), 2 tbsp mayo (1 carb), 1/2 cup jicama (2.5 carbs)

Dinner – 6 oz chicken breast, 1/4 cup zucchini (0.6 carbs), 1/4 cup onion (3 carbs), 1/4 cup mushrooms (0.6 carbs), 1/2 cup red pepper (2.3 carbs), 3/4 cup romaine lettuce (0.5 carbs), 1 oz parmesan cheese (1 carb), 2 tbsp olive oil

Total – 8 carbs

Daily Total – 14.7

Well I managed to do better on my cheese and cream intake yesterday. I cant completely give up cheese though, I love it too much! I only eat sour cream maybe once or twice a week, I had a tbsp of that yesterday. I didnt have even 1 sweetener or any heavy cream though so yay me! Going for another good low carb day!

Breakfast – 2 eggs (1.2 carbs), 1/2 oz cheddar cheese (0.5 carbs), 1/8th cup mushrooms (0.3 carbs), 1/8th cup green onion (0.5 carbs), 3 slices bacon (0.2 carbs),

Dinner – 8 oz salmon, 1/2 cup sauteed shrimp, 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp mayo (1 carb), 3/4 cup salad greens (0.5 carbs), 1/2 cup brocolli (2.1 carbs), 6 oz decaf coffee (0.7 carbs)

Total – 4.3 carbs

Not much to say today, I am doing good :) I have decided to cut back on cream, splenda, cheese and sour cream. I want to see if it is slowing me down. I have heard conflicting things like you shouldnt have cream every day etc so I want to see how that all works in regards to my own body because I know these things are very different for different people.

Breakfast – 2 eggs (1.2 carbs), 3 slices of bacon (0.2 carbs), 1/8th cup green onion (0.5 carbs), 1/8th cup zuchini (0.5 carbs), 1/8th cup sweet pepper (0.6 carbs), 1/2 oz swiss cheese (0.5 carbs)

Total – 3.5 carbs

Lunch – 6 oz hamburger patty, 1 oz blue cheese (1 carb), 1 cup salad greens (0.5 carbs), 1/4 cup grape tomatoes ( 2 carbs), olive oil and vinegar dressing

Total – 3.5 carbs

Dinner – 4 oz taco meat (2 carbs), 1 cup salad greens (0.5 carbs), 1/4 avocado (1 carb), 1/8th cup green onion (0.5 carbs), 5 black olives (2 carbs), 1 oz cheddar cheese (1 carb), 1 tbsp sour cream (0.5 carbs), carb free hot sauce

Total – 7 carbs

Daily total – 14 carbs

Still seeing lots of changes in my body. It is definitely getting smaller all the time. I feel great and have lots of energy.

Well today marks the end of my third week on Atkins. I’m doing great, no cheats other than the alcohol last week. I am still well over 100 oz of water every day. I have also made a personal commitment to myself to exercise 4 days a week. Ive got tons of workout dvds like pilates and tae bo so I will make sure to do a little something at least 4 days a week.

Breakfast – 2 eggs (1.2 carbs), 3 slices ham (0 carbs), 1/8th cup mushrooms (0.3 carbs), 1/8th cup green onion (0.5 carbs), 1/8th cup sweet pepper (0.6 carbs), 1 tbsp heavy cream (1 carb), 1 oz muenster cheese (1 carb)

Lunch – 3 oz can of tuna, 1/2 cup raw cauliflower (1.3 carbs), homemade blue cheese dressing (2 carbs)

Total – 3.3 carbs

Snack – Italian soda – 2 tbsp sugar free vanilla syrup, 2 tbsp heavy cream (2 carbs), sodium free seltzer

Total – 2 carbs

Dinner – 1.5 cups romaine lettuce (1 carb), 1/4 cup cucumber (0.3 carbs), 1/4 cup grape tomatoes (2 carbs), 1 oz feta cheese (1 carb), sprinkle of bacon, olive oil and vinegar dressing

Well my party yesterday went well although I went over my cheese allotment for the day *dang* I kept my carbs below 20 so now its back to what I have been doing. Gotta get more quality meats into myself today, yesterday was all lunch meat and tuna and eggs. It was hard to drink water while all the other girls were drinking Alabama slammers and other assorted delicious looking alcoholic beverages *sigh* I did well though and had lots of fun!

Breakfast – 2 scrambled eggs cooked in butter (1.2 carbs), 3 slices bacon (0.2 carbs)
